The first blocks of flats with green terraces on their roofs will be constructed in the capital city

Real estate management and development company MG Valda announces that in the second quarter of 2017, blocks of flats with green terraces on their roofs will be constructed for the first time in Lithuania. The project investments will amount to EUR 14 million.

According to Manager of MG Valda Sale Division Mantas Umbrasas, they will be the first blocks of flats in Lithuania with the recreational spaces for residents to be installed on their roofs. According to him, the tradition to have recreational spaces on the roofs of residential buildings has been prevailing for a while in Southern Europe and Scandinavia.

The project is the third and the last stage of the ‘LightHouse’ smart residential estate. The estate will be extended by the new blocks of 265 flats.

‘In Lithuania as well, the need to use unique spaces to enjoy exclusive comfort is increasingly noticed among residents. Recreational spaces on the roof offer a unique opportunity not only to spend free time together, to rest, but also to admire the panorama of Vilnius City. This practice is not common in Lithuania yet, but seeing our neighbours perfectly using yard spaces, we decided to create additional possibilities for the residents to enjoy their living environment’, stated Mr. Umbrasas.

Terraces are planned to be divided into three different zones. Residents will be able to enjoy barbeque and to grow herbs in the dining zones, green zones will be intended for socialisation, while recreational spaces will offer an opportunity to relax after work.

Project architect Remigijus Bimba aimed to combine esthetical and practical elements of architecture. ‘Every project is peculiar by its architectural line. The environment in which development is planned must be carefully assessed in order to achieve perfect integration not only with already developed environment but with the existing surrounding infrastructure as well. The ‘LightHouse III’ blocks will stand out by their esthetical lightness and a full set of solutions in place which are needed for comfort of life of an individual’, stated the Head of AKG architectural company.

In addition to the third stage of the LightHouse under development, MG Valda offers apartments for sale in already completed ‘Pušų terasos’ blocks and ‘Užupio krantinės’ project.
