On 17-18 February at the International Hospitality Awards 2017 in Kiev (Ukraine), Artagonist Hotel based in the Old Town of Vilnius earned the main award for its design solutions. Over 300 hotels well-known throughout Europe took part.
‘The concept of our hotel is to be different and to create a feeling for our guests that they are in a non-standard environment, which just breathes art. The award for our design solutions is long-awaited and important,’ Vilius Vaičekauskas, Manager of Artagonist Hotel, said.
A total of 16 Lithuanian artists dedicated their works especially for the hotel. The rooms are decorated with textile works, paintings, graphical wall art pieces, wall paintings, and sculptures. Works of art are displayed not only in the rooms, but also in common spaces of the hotel.
Restaurant Amandus founded by one of the most famous Lithuanian chefs, Deivydas Praspaliauskas, is located within the hotel premises.
At the end of the previous year, TripAdvisor, the global online travel guide, reported that Artagonist Hotel was recognized as the best hotel in Vilnius by visitors. In November 2018, Vilnius City Municipality awarded Artagonist with the special award of the best hospitality company of the year in Vilnius.
Artagonist Hotel is in the ownership of MG Valda, one of the largest real estate development companies in Lithuania. The 34-room hotel located on Pilies Street is the second hotel of a unique style owned by MG Valda. The company also controls Urbihop, another hotel which reflects urban culture.
