The ARTAGONIST hotel was opened in 2016, in the very heart of Vilnius Old Town, on Pilies Street, which is very popular among locals and tourists, from which all sightseeing objects in the centre of the capital city can be easily reached on foot.
The hotel has a bold, distinctive character, propagates dramatic, strong art opposing the popular taste, bright style giving a powerful, unforgettable impression. It is not a usual ART Hotel, but rather the hotel reflecting the strong drama between the classical and contemporary art.
The interior design of the hotel reception and rooms is created by joint efforts of different Lithuanian artists, who embellished each space with their works of art and their interpretations.
The building of the ARTAGONIST hotel dates back to the end of the 15th Century – beginning of the 16th Century. In 1530-1743, the building housed a tailors’ shop, later watchmakers J. and B. Veineriai. The plan with the courtyard and staircase was developed in early 18th Century. The present appearance was created in 1907 after the reconstruction carried out by architect V. Stipulkovskis.
